Spiritual music and poetry have a way of bypassing our busy minds, activating the life of Christ that lives in us. They open a pathway for us as believers to bask in His presence - taking advantage of the riches of His love, joy, and peace He longs to pour out on us.
Most of the songs and hymns in this book I have been singing most of my life. In my younger days, I sang them in church, along with everyone else, as a part of the service. It was something I did every week, but it carried little meaning for me other than doing what I thought I was supposed to be doing as a Christian. When the Lord finally got a hold of me and my relationship with Him became very real and intimate, my attitude concerning those hymns and songs changed. God not only breathed life and light into my dormant spirit, He also opened my eyes to see the wealth and treasure there was to be found in those very same hymns and songs.
My hope in putting this book together of 97 hymns and songs, is that you too will see these songs in a new light. They are personal testimonies of believers in the past who have tasted of the riches our Lord has in store for us. Let their words touch you deeply and encourage you in your personal walk with the Lord. Let them lead you into His presence.
I have added my own personal prayers that may aid you in tasting these songs and hymns in new way.
