"I will make your battlements of rubies, and your gates of crystal." (Isaiah 54:12)

     The whole New Testament constantly quotes Isaiah and the prophets.  Jesus Himself uses the word pictures found in the book of Isaiah.  We so often think of the prophets as foretelling the coming of Christ.  But there is so much more they had to say about our personal relationship with the Lord.

- Streams in the desert

- Joyously drawing water from the springs of salvation

-Eating what is good and delighting in abundance

-Giving me a new heart and having His Spirit placed inside me

- The Lord is a stronghold in trouble

- The Lord rejoices over me 

All of this and much more was written by the prophets to encourage us in our relationship with the Lord.  He has provided for us His "secret place" with gates of crystal and walls of rubies for us to enjoy and be strengthened by Him.

 

 

 

   Gates of Crystal goes beyond encouragement.  It is designed to lead you into your own intimate relationship with God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord; to simply be with Him, basking in His presence, allowing Him to pour out His riches on You.

     This book selects passages from Isaiah and the prophets that deal directly with our own personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.  Based on those passages and other passages from the Bible, as well as an occasional song or hymn, I then add my own prayers to Him.

     This book is also illustrated with black and white reproductions of some of my paintings I have completed in my years as a professional artist.
