"Return to your rest, O my soul" (Psalm 116: 7)
One of the negative emotions that causes us all grief to one degree or another is anxiety. "What will happen to me today? Will I be OK tomorrow? Is something bad going to happen to me?" The Psalms encourage us to not only trust in our God and Father who loves us and will take care of us, but to find our rest in Him. Resting goes further than a mental exercise. Calling on His name and turning to Him, His Spirit that is in us as believers, rises up and gives us His peace and rest. The Psalms encourage us in our times of refreshment with Him, to go to a "secret place" inside ourselves that He provides.
